Sangha is one of the three jewels of Buddhism:
While Sangha traditionally refers to community of monks and nuns, it also include the community members (laity), who participate in activities and support the temple/monastery.
Humans are social beings, and as such, we thrive in community. No matter what purpose we have in coming together, we do best with each other’s support.
“Taking refuge in the Buddha, we commit ourselves to our own capacity for freedom. Taking refuge in the dharma, we bring the path of awakening to life. Taking refuge in the sangha, we acknowledge our interconnectedness.”
