Join us on a step-by-step journey to deepen your meditation, insight, & compassion. This course led by Drupon Lama Dorje offers structured training in the Five-Fold Path of Mahamudra, a profound Buddhist practice that provides a direct path to awakening, passed down from master to student in an unbroken oral tradition for countless decades. This is precisely what the Lamas of our lineage practice during three years of solitude, and is being made readily available to us in the modern world so we too may experience the benefits of becoming happy, healthy humans that can benefit the world.
We expect this course to last around 18 months. We know....that sounds really long with our busy lives! But really it just breaks down to two teachings a month, optional Q&A sessions in between, and occasional mini weekend retreats that can be done from your home.
The greatest benefit of this training is getting step-by-step instructions for your at-home daily practice.
This is a verified path to awakening that worked for realized masters who have lovingly passed down their wisdom across generations to show us how we too can become realized in this very life.
Drupon Lama Dorje has skillfully designed this course to add pertinent background philosophy that will enrich your practice at home, and structured it in union with the Three Precious Trainings of the Buddha: Shila (discipline), Samadhi (Meditative Concentration), Prajna (Wisdom).

The Five-Fold Mahamudra is a central meditation system in the Drikung Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, tracing its origins to the great Indian master Tilopa and his disciple Naropa. This profound method was later transmitted through Marpa, Milarepa, and Gampopa, reaching Jigten Sumgon (1143–1217), the founder of the Drikung Kagyu school, who emphasized this method of profound meditative practices for realizing the nature of mind.
The five aspects of the system—bodhicitta, deity yoga, guru yoga, Mahamudra meditation, and dedication—form a structured path that integrates devotion, visualization, and direct awareness of ultimate reality. Emphasized in Drikung Kagyu as a swift and complete path to enlightenment, the Five-Fold Mahamudra remains a core meditative approach for practitioners today, upheld through an unbroken lineage of transmissions and teachings.
Drupon La has been so proud of how the sangha has been progressing on the path. Therefore he is inspired to now invite us into the gateway of Vajrayana Buddhism.
- About Vajrayana: Vajrayana Buddhism is characterized by its use of rituals, mantras, and symbolic visualizations to achieve rapid enlightenment in this very lifetime. It emphasizes the role of a realized teacher from a pure lineage and incorporates specific practices that blend wisdom and compassion in a structured spiritual path to transform ordinary perceptions to the path of enlightenment.
- What kind of at home practices: In 5-fold Mahamudra, practitioners engage in meditation practices at home that include utilizing mantras, visualizations, and sometimes physical exercises to cultivate mindfulness, clarity, insight, and awareness of the nature of mind. Each practice is given only after the practitioner completed the previous requirements, as each step gradually brings the mind into more subtle states.
- Empowerments & Transmissions: In Vajrayana Buddhism, empowerments (wang)and transmissions (lung) are sacred rites given by a qualified teacher, granting practitioners the blessings, permission, and ability to engage in specific practices. Each empowerment and transmission marks your graduation into the next step of your practice. Every 3-4 months Lama will be offering a mini weekend retreat both in-person and online to give you these special blessings and instructions.
- Vows along the path: Taking vows of discipline on the Buddhist path fosters inner freedom by providing a structured framework that helps to overcome the distractions of attachment and aversion. Through the consistent practice of ethical conduct, practitioners develop self-mastery and mental clarity, leading to liberation from habitual patterns and the cultivation of a deeper sense of inner peace and freedom. Practitioners will be given Refuge, Bodhisattva, and Vajrayana vows in a step-by-step manner as long as they fulfill the previous requirements and plan to take these commitments seriously.
We are so happy to be embarking upon this path together. May All Beings Benefit.
