We are in the beginning stages of building Dewachen World Peace Sanctuary in Costa Rica, while also hosting year round online and in-person events. This makes for a demanding schedule yet the blessings of working for the Dharma are tremendous.

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a proactive and organized individual who can support us in bringing more Dharma into the world! You will work closely with the events manager and LDF director to launch events and teachings. It is essential you are efficient, timely, and communicate effectively. There are many tasks that go into planning, launching, and following up with events. You will support on the administrative level to be sure events are smooth and precise. You will support participants and ensure the Dharma is being brought into the world with mindfulness and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Logistics Coordination: Assist in the logistical planning and coordination of both online and in-person events and retreats. This includes researching and coordinating with venues for in-person retreats, ensuring they meet event requirements such as space, equipment, and materials
  • Communication with Potential Participants: Serve as a primary point of contact for potential participants, responding to inquiries via email and other communication channels. Provide participants with necessary information, updates, and support before the retreat.
  • Promotion and Registration Assistance: Collaborate with the communications team to promote events through various online channels, including social media, newsletters, and Lama Dorje Foundation's website. Assist with participant registration and maintain accurate attendee lists.
  • Event Setup and Coordination: Assist with the setup and coordination of event spaces, whether virtual or in-person, ensuring they are organized and conducive to a positive learning environment. This includes managing logistics, coordinating with speakers, overseeing event schedules, and putting the event details up on the website.
  • Post-Event Activities: Support post-event activities such as gathering participant feedback, compiling reports, and contributing to the evaluation of event success. Assist with administrative tasks to ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Events Planner, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing event-related correspondence.

Qualifications:

  • Interest in the Dharma 
  • Inspired to serve others and embody the values of compassion, wisdom, and generosity
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with participants, venues, and team members (Spanish is a plus)
  • Proficiency in using online platforms and tools for event management and communication (Monday, Slack, Givebutter) 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
